Aina qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and specialises in child law (both care cases and residence/contact), divorce and financial settlements, including Trust law. She also has wide experience of nullity, forced marriages, and abduction.
In addition, her niche expertise is in Shariah law, providing solutions which work under English as well as Shariah law, and in advising official bodies in this specialist area.
Aina became a Consultant in 2008, having been the Senior Partner of Aina Khan Partnership, London, for 14 years. Aina appears frequently in the media here and abroad, commenting on issues affecting Muslim and Asian Communities, as well as family law topics. She has recently appeared on Newsnight, Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, Sky News and BBC News.
She is a member of the Law Society’s Family Panel and Children Panel and an experienced advocate. Aina speaks Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi and conversational French.
